Since 2002, BBTS Group has been manufacturing high quality prepared foods such as sandwiches, vegetables, pizzas, and other various pre-packaged food items that can be found locally in convenience stores, hospitals, schools, and governmental agencies, just to name a few

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all mechanical aspects of packaging machinery, metal detectors conveyors, and meat slicers related to food prep and packaging. (Such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains and belts)
  • Problem-solve mechanical issues, equipment and/or building, electrical and/or plumbing issues
  • Safe installation and repair of manufacturing machinery, equipment and facilities with emphasis in mechanics of manufacturing
  • Complete documents as required by department guidelines
  • Effectively comply with all SOPs and GMPs
  • Practice and follow safety requirements that are OSHA compliant
  • Handle hazardous material and waste using proper and safe techniques
  • Assist in parts room maintenance and other technical maintenance repairs as requested
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to understand English and communicate with all stakeholders, Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish)
  • Able to read and troubleshoot control components, Basic relay logic, ladder diagrams, servo drives, frequency inverters, sensors and timers
  • Able to work approx. 80% of your time in a cool environment of 40 degree
  • Proficient in using basic hand tools, basic powered tools, calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, etc.
  • Good eye and hand coordination to use hand tools and other devices
  • Flexible to change in priorities based on immediate needs
  • Ability to multitask when needed
  • Ability to walk and stand 100% of shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to work changing shifts when needed, including weekends and holidays
  • Food manufacturing/processing experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Hours:

  • The Maintenance Technicians typically work shifts that can start as early as 3:00 AM to ensure that all production lines are ready for the day.
  • The regular shift duration is aimed to be around 8 to 10 hours, generally running from 3:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 5:00 PM.
  • Due to current understaffing, there is significant overtime involved until the department is fully staffed.

Weekend Shift:

  • The facility operates 24/7, so weekend shifts are required.
  • Technicians are generally expected to work either Saturday or Sunday, with shifts rotating depending on the needs of the department.
  • In some cases, technicians may work both weekend days, but the goal is to rotate these shifts to prevent burnout.
  • Once fully staffed, the aim is to have more balanced scheduling to minimize excessive weekend work.

Summary:

  • The role requires flexibility with early starts, potential overtime, and weekend shifts. The schedule is designed to ensure 24/7 coverage of the facility, with rotation among technicians to manage workload and prevent burnout.
