Job DescriptionJob Description

A warehouse forklift driver, also known as a forklift operator or materials handler, moves goods around a warehouse or industrial site using a forklift. Their responsibilities include: 

  • Receiving shipments: Unloading deliveries from trucks and moving items to storage areas 
  • Storing and stacking: Selecting storage locations, assembling items for shipment, and stacking and palletizing items 
  • Moving materials: Using pallets and crates to move materials around the facility 
  • Checking loads: Ensuring loads are secure and centered 
  • Performing maintenance: Performing basic maintenance and equipment checks, such as cleaning, oiling, recharging batteries, and refueling 
  • Following instructions: Following written instructions and adhering to health and safety regulations 
  • Keeping records: Maintaining production records and reports of issues, and completing forms and documentation
