Are you an energetic person who enjoys meeting new people and helping others? If so, you are a great fit for the Ahwatukee Recreation Center (ARC) team.

The ARC is looking for someone to fill its position for a Front Desk Attendant. This person will work from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

This part-time position requires the incumbent to perform tasks of average difficulty in a complex environment for a 55 years of age or older adult community. In this position, the incumbent is expected to:

• Greet members, visitors, and guests to the Ahwatukee Recreation Center (ARC): check ID cards and determine the purposes of each person’s visit to assist with inquires and direct to the appropriate location.
• Create member and social member identification cards (FOBs).
• Answer, screen, and direct phone calls; take messages and transfer calls to appropriate authority.
• Receive mail, documents, and packages, and deliver them to the correct recipient.
• Monitor closed circuit monitors to ensure compliance with ARC Rules and Regulations; record usage statistics as required by the ARC Business Office.
• Assist in preparing documents for distribution and mailings to members, and use office equipment (fax, phones, computer, copy machine) to provide basic administrative services.
• Set up video presentation equipment and prepare popcorn for ARC members and activities.
• Conduct appropriate protocol in the event of an emergency. This includes performing CPR or basic first aid as required by the emergency.
• Wipe down and sanitize common touch points at/around the front desk and throughout the lobby of the main building.
• Assist the maintenance staff with securing the facility at the end of operating hours by ensuring all doors are locked in the main building and roadside gates are closed and locked.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
• Background in working with senior citizens in a retirement community desirable but not required.
• English speaking required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to display a positive attitude and professional appearance in all interactions with members and guests.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use office equipment (fax, phones, computer, copy machine).
• Ability to communicate effectively with members and guests.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Involves periods of sitting at a desk.
• Must be able to traverse the ARC property.
• Must be able to assist in the event of an emergency.
• Must be able to receive CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
