Litigation Paralegal

TrendHR is looking to hire an experienced litigation paralegal team for a client in the Mesquite/Garland area. This team will work with attorneys during preparation before trials, during trial period and after trial processes. The ideal candidate is very detail orientated, able to handle working in a fast paced environment, works well under pressure and very organized. Must possess strong writing and communication skills; possess excellent proofreading skills; and have proven work experience as a paralegal in the personal injury area. Someone who is reliable and the team can count on to be there daily.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Will spend a lot of time interacting with clients, experts, court personnel and opposing counsel daily.
• Responsible for drafting pleadings, correspondence, discovery requests, motions, notices and subpoenas. Must know how to file with court and execute services needed for trial
• Responsible for calendar hearings and deadlines. This is not limited to other important dates needed to calendar for mock trials and anything important to all cases.
• Will organize all files electronically, maintain all hard copies, maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
• Will be accessible to do all other duties for litigation and pre-litigation as needed including secretarial duties

Requirements:

• Must Have Paralegal experience. This is not entry level
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a litigation or pre-litigation paralegal in a law firm (Personal Injury field preferred)
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Experience with document management systems, including e-filing like PACER; Westlaw; ProLaw or some case management software.
• Must be accessible to do all other duties for litigation and pre-litigation as needed

Required experience:

• Paralegal / Legal Assistant: minimum of 5-10 years in the Personal Injury area
• Certifications not required but preferred.
• Litigation: 5-10 years
• Paralegal: 5-10 years
• Trial experience not required but preferred

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
