About the Role:

TeleSpecialists is looking for a Licensing Supervisor that will oversee a team responsible for the medical state licensing process for TeleSpecialists providers. The Licensing Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision and performance of their team. They will have a strong working knowledge of the various state medical licensing rules and regulations and be able to provide guidance and support to their team in obtaining licenses timely for our physicians. This is a key role that will work closely with other teams within our Credentialing & Licensing Division as well as other key operational leaders throughout the organization.

Essential Responsibilities of this Role:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations and performance of their team.
  • Monitors the status of licensing applications assigned to staff within their team to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Prioritizes inventory and assigns out to staff accordingly.
  • Acts as a mentor in answering staff questions, assisting staff with resolving issues and providing the necessary support for daily operations of the licensing team.
  • Monitoring expirables and ensuring all renewals are completed on a timely basis.
  • Ensures Licensing Manager and/or Credentialing & Licensing Director are aware of any potential issues identified during the credentialing or licensing process and works in collaboration with practitioner/team to resolve the issue.
  • Developing and maintaining training guidelines, policies and procedures for the team and department.
  • Responsible for ensuring that staff are trained on and following departmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains strong relationships and communicates regularly with other company leaders, team members in the division and customers.
  • Conducts regular 1:1 coaching sessions with individual team members, semi-annual performance reviews and will be responsible for managing in partnership with Credentialing Manager and HR any disciplinary actions that may be needed.
  • Responsible for preparing presentations for and attending various meetings to report on status of efforts handled by their team.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving PTO requests, timecards, and other payroll items for their team.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Experience or familiarity with credentialing accreditation by Joint Commission or National Committee for Quality Assurance.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with state medical licensing boards and FCVS.
  • 5 years of medical licensing and/or credentialing experience or healthcare leadership.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and/or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) is helpful.
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office products.
