Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, a small, friendly Criminal Defense law firm is seeking an experienced full-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team. The person we are looking for must be reliable, self-motivated, well-organized, and have previous experience working in a criminal defense law firm.

This is an in-person position; we do not offer remote work. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, which is the working hours for this position—excellent benefits, including health insurance, dental insurance, paid vacation/sick time, and 401k.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist attorneys with administrative tasks related to opening and maintaining cases
  • Draft motions and letters/correspondence
  • Litigation support tasks
  • E filings
  • Maintain client communication and satisfaction
  • Monitor attorney calendars and important deadlines
  • File organization and management, including electronic storage
  • Maintain attorney-client confidentiality
  • Assist and maintain efficient daily operations

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Criminal Defense Paralegal
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook programs, among others
  • Outstanding customer service and the ability to work in a team-driven atmosphere
  • Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and the court system
  • Ability to integrate into an existing office system
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to adapt/learn
  • Professional demeanor and client-oriented focus
  • Ability to travel and maintain a consistent full-time work schedule of eight hours per day Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 5 pm in person at our office on Hayden/McDowell in Scottsdale, Arizona
