Position Overview: As a Construction Estimator specializing in concrete, you will play a crucial role in accurately estimating the costs associated with concrete-related construction projects. From initial bid preparation to project execution, you will leverage your expertise to ensure the profitability and success of each project. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects while collaborating with a talented team of construction professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for concrete construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather relevant information and develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations to assess project requirements, identify potential challenges, and gather necessary data for estimating purposes.
  • Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to quantify materials, labor, equipment, and other project expenses.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, timelines, and scope of work, in accordance with client requirements and specifications.
  • Review subcontractor and vendor quotes, negotiate pricing as needed, and make recommendations to senior management for project award decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of project estimates, budgets, and related documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on concrete projects.
  • Strong understanding of concrete construction techniques, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in estimating practices.
