Supply Planner

Safilo Secaucus, New Jersey, United States (Hybrid)

Supply Planner will be responsible for managing SKU/channel level forecast within North America market by driving effective inventory and reserve management to support capacity requirements and business strategies to achieve financial objectives.

As an integration point into the Supply Chain and Commercial organization, this position will play an important role in the integrated business planning by coordinating across Key Account Managers (Sales), Demand Planning, and Global Supply Planning teams to ensure close alignment between demand plans, supply plan, and financial targets.

This role will drive continuous improvement processes that deliver network efficiencies, forecast accuracy, effective product life cycle management, SKU rationalization, and improved service levels by working closely with commercial planning and supply chain to manage supply plans across NA Key Accounts.

The position will balance demand changes against supply constraints, prioritizing channel requirements within the constrained plan, and ensure efficient product flow from global manufacturing into distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Support excess inventory depletion plan in conjunction via effective Product Life Cycle Management, improving Forecast accuracy, and SKU rationalization.
  • Responsible for order placement of needed product for assigned suppliers and/or assigned product lines
  • Reduce/eliminate and prevent excess/obsolete inventories for assigned product lines
  • Monitor Service Levels for assigned product lines ensuring they have met targeted goals
  • Controls the flow of product for assigned collections to insure acceptable on hand and on order levels are maintained
  • Monitor & coordinates the releases of new styles according to product plan together with Development, Sales & Marketing Departments
  • Identifies style parts and ensures they are ordered and linked to style for optimum customer service
  • Act as a Liaison to Purchasing departments as it relates to any new or change of process and day to day information exchange
  • Coordinates and updates the system with delivery dates from suppliers and follows up with Purchasing departments to ensure on time Delivery of Product
  • Reviews customer backorders on a regular basis and works with supplier to anticipate delivery and prioritize orders as needed, updates the system as needed.
  • Works closely with Purchasing departments to ensure they have met acceptable levels of service and lead-times. Attend and participate in meeting as required.
  • Perform other Product Planning related functions
  • Continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills

  • Strong business sense with an in-depth knowledge of end-to-end supply chain flow.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workloads and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills: attention to detail, urgency to follow up on open issues and drive toward timely closure, simultaneously managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Data Optimization and project management skills
  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Mastery in Excel a must (pivots, macros, queries, etc). Familiarity with SAP, JDA-DRP, and Forecasting Models is a plus
  • 2+ years’ experience in supply planning
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations.
