Our home healthcare company provides these services to Bensalem, PA, and the surrounding counties of Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, and Philadelphia.

RESPONSIBILITIES /DUTIES:

  • Ensure quality and safe delivery of home health care services. Participate in the development and implementation of the client’s plan of care, per the home health care agency's policies and procedures, as appropriate.
  • Participate in client case conferences according to the home health care agency's policies and procedures, as appropriate ensure that information regarding the client’s plan of care and its execution is handled professionally, ensuring the protection of the client's privacy and that all relevant data and documentation is submitted to the Home Health Care Registered Nurse on time.
  • Attend twelve (12) hours of Aide oriented in-service per year
  • Participate in professional meetings as necessary
  • Can work closely supervised, to ensure competence in providing patient care

POSITION QUALIFICATION:

  • High school graduation required
  • Home Health Aide certification required as obtained through successful completion of an approved program
  • Should have one year of full-time experience in home health care in an institutional setting, such as a hospital or nursing home, OR should have one year of full-time experience within the last five years of indirect patient care in a home health agency setting
  • CPR training and certification
  • Evidence of a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and carry out directions
  • Evidence of emotional maturity and ability to deal effectively with job demands
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required
  • Attends twelve (12) hours of Aide oriented in-service per year

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing.
  • Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Able to bend, lift, and stand an average of at least 6 - 8 hours per day.
  • Able to work in a stressful environment.
  • Able to drive to and from your area of assignment.
  • Able to assess and communicate with ill patients, co-workers, and the public.
  • Is neat in appearance and practice, with good personal hygiene.

CANDIDATES FOR EMPLOYMENT BY THE AGENCY ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

  • Pass a competency examination with at least an 80% score or better. The content of the competency evaluation of the agency will include but is not limited to:
  • Communication skills
  • Observation, reporting, and documentation of a client’s status and the quality of care or service furnished
  • Reading and recording temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
  • Basic infection control procedures and adherence to instructions on universal precautions
  • Basic elements of body functions and changes in body function that must be reported to the supervisor
  • Maintenance of a clean, healthy, and safe environment
  • Recognizing emergencies and knowledge of emergency procedures
  • Recognizing the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of clients and professional ways to work with the population served by the agency, including the need to respect the client and his or her privacy and property

APPROPRIATE AND SAFE TECHNIQUES IN PERSONAL HYGIENE AND GROOMING THAT INCLUDE:

  • Bed Bath
  • Sponge, Tub, Or Shower Bath
  • Shampoo, Sink, Tub, Or Bed
  • Nail And Hair Care
  • Oral Hygiene
  • Toileting And Eliminating
  • Safe Transfer Techniques and Ambulation
  • Normal Range of Motion and Position
  • Adequate Nutrition and Fluid Intake
  • Patient Rights Any Other Task That the Agency May Choose to Have the Home Health Aide Perform

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $11.25 - $15.00 per hour
