Provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Nurse practitioner and in collaboration with other team members in a radiation oncology clinic.
Job Duties:
- Interviews patients about current problems, medications, and allergies and reviews medical records for pertinent previous and current information.
- Must be familiar with using EMR systems along with Microsoft Office products.
- Participates in patient treatment regimen, including administering medications (under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner).
- Establishes and documents patient treatment regimens under the supervision of the nurse practitioner or MD.
- Check the requisition form for requested tests before scheduling the patient.
- Maintains adequate inventory of examination room supplies and prepares exam rooms at the beginning and end of the day and between each patient contact.
- Performs various office responsibilities: answers phones, takes messages, and performs triage within the scope of licensed practical nursing practice in an accurate and timely manner.
- Facilitates and assists in the coordination of patient referrals.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
- LPN or RN license in the State of Kansas
- Current BLS
Schedule:
Precision Cancer Care of Ottawa Monday through Friday mornings until patient care, and clinics are completed. The remainder of the day is spent at PCC in Lawrence. Possibility of traveling to Chanute, KS periodically.
