The Professional Development and Publishing Office at ASHP is actively recruiting for a part-time freelance copyeditor. The successful candidate will be responsible for copyediting peer-reviewed technical/scientific book chapters and manuscripts for ASHP in conformance with ASHP style and conventions of biomedical publishing.
This is a part-time role, anticipated to be in the range of 10-20 hours per week. This position is not eligible for benefits. This position is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the continental United States.
What You Bring To ASHP:
- B.A. in Communications or English or B.S. in life sciences
- Minimum of 5 years of editorial experience that includes copyediting for a scientific or biomedical publisher
- Experience with book publishing
- Exceptional grasp of grammar and language skills
- Superb attention to detail
- Flexibility and good organizational skills
- Familiarity with AMA editorial style
- Ability to track changes using redline feature of MS Word
- Ability to use Adobe Acrobat to edit/mark up article proofs
Knowledge and understanding of healthcare issues a plus but not required
