Job DescriptionJob Description

The Assistant Electrical Engineer will assist senior electrical engineers and project management staff with project planning, asset management or program management for airports. The Assistant Electrical Engineer will work with the project team throughout the planning, asset management or construction process to manage electrical plans. Assist with conducting ASHRAE Level 2 commercial building energy audits. Assist with conducting energy audit activities including data collection, systems analysis, energy efficiency system operation recommendations, capital improvement recommendations, cost-benefit analysis and reporting. Application of ENERGY STAR principles and methodology for benchmarking, metrics, systems performance and analytics. Participates in the development of project scope for airport capital improvement programs. Applies expert knowledge of commonly used electrical concepts, practices, codes and procedures.

  • Assist with the development of on-site ASHRAE energy audits and condition assessments to identify applicable and cost-effective energy efficiency and demand response measures.
  • Assist with energy savings and cost analysis for energy efficiency and demand response measures.
  • Participate in electrical project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and establishing critical project objectives.
  • Review and communicate internal project status reports.
  • Present reports to internal executive management as required.
  • Assist with scheduling, work breakdown structure establishment and field progress tracking as required.
  • Support communication with governmental, industry, and public entities on project-related matters.
  • May be assigned to a project site based on project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited program.
  • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) strongly preferred.
  • Prior related energy audit and electrical engineering consulting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in standard electrical engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
  • Experience developing and managing work plans, schedules and budgets.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE and ENERGY STAR standards and principles
  • Knowledge of ANSI and IEEE Standards
  • Multiple years of experience executing planning or program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, oil & gas is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Basic computer skills include electrical analysis programs, AutoCAD, and BIM programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
