We are passionate about leveraging advanced technology, Metal 3D Printing, to help companies develop the next generation of Titanium Orthopedic Implants. In support of these activities, the Additive Manufacturing Technician/Engineer will be responsible for setup, operation, and maintenance of the Metal Additive Manufacturing machines, post processing equipment and associated processes, to ensure the proper manufacturing of Medical Devices parts compliant with customer requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a team-based collaborative environment
  • Experience in lean manufacturing
  • Experience in writing standard work processes
  • The ability to troubleshoot operational issues and relay information to the team
  • Executes the actions necessary to resolve project problems/issues and reports on mitigating steps and actions taken to ensure timely deliverables
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Experience working with basic shop tools and hand tools
  • Intermediate level skill with MS Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Provides weekly status reports highlighting accomplishments, plans, and issues to project team members
  • Cultivates inter-departmental relationships and promotes a positive work environment
  • Basic ordering and shipping experience

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience working in a technical capacity with a manufacturing company
  • Previous positions as operations technicians, maintenance, or quality
  • Associates degree in an engineering/business discipline or equivalent/relevant experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with additive manufacturing technologies and design for additive processes
  • Experience in Additive Manufacturing or working with metal powders.
  • Beginning level skill with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks 3D CAD
  • Basic understanding of machine tools (milling, lathe, drill presses, CNC)
  • Familiarity with additional post processing technologies such as heat treating
  • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude related to components and systems of increasing complexity
