ICMS is seeking an experienced and multi-skilled Supervisory Journeyman Electrician to join our team in support of one of our federal clients. This position is 100% onsite at a Federal Government facility. This position is covered under the Service Contract Labor Standards Act.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00AM to 4:30PM

The Supervisory Journeyman Electrician shall be responsible for performing all electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. This role will serve in a supervisory capacity of a small team, ensuring accuracy, quality and completeness of work, scheduling, coordinating with staff and vendors, communicating with customers and corporate stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be experienced at a master level, managing a team of electricians or technical staff, or owned their own business. Primary duties include:

· Install or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment, including overhead door operators, equipment controls and low voltage controls

· Working knowledge of standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment

· Test electrical currents or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment

· Knowledge and understanding of the current National Electrical Code (NEC)

· Able to work from drawings, layouts, blueprints, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment

· Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions

· Must comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area

· Perform other related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to perform each bullet point task in the position summary
  • Must be willing/able to work outside in hot, cold conditions
  • Ability to work on site during normal working hours; position may require occasional call ins for special circumstances
  • Knowledge of electrical doors, clean power generators, emergency lighting, and UPS systems
  • Knowledge of circuit breakers, replacing outlets, switches and ballasts, panels-lighting, power, and clean power, as well as fuse distribution panels
  • Experience managing personnel, scheduling, operations, practices, techniques, and managing daily performance of the contract work
  • Ability to work on site eight hours per day, Monday through Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.
  • Knowledge of acceptable maintenance procedures and understanding of occupational safety and health regulations is required
  • Must be a steady, reliable worker
  • Ability to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams.
  • State Certified Journeyman Electrician License is required
  • Minimum of 10 Years hands on experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management capacity.
  • Must be able to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete each task assignment.
  • Minimum of 3 years working in Facility/Bldg./Industrial Complex Operation and Maintenance.
  • Minimum of 10 years Electrical experience.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience working in a federal facility or military experience
  • Verifiable experience.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.

Security Clearance Requirements

It is mandatory that all Contractor personnel working onsite at federal facilities meet federal government security clearance standards. The Contractor shall submit security clearance information, for each employee, as required by current government identification card application procedures and future requirements as applicable. All employees must be authorized as acceptable under by the contracting officer for the prime contract under which this employee is working.
