The HKU Assistant Manager is responsible for the daily supervision of the housecleaning staff, quality of service, client satisfaction and worker safety. This is a working position that also supervises daily cleaning objectives and assists in the administration of housekeeping services in safe and efficient compliance with policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations.

 

This role is actively engaged in all functions, goals, assignments and purposes. The Assistant Manager will be knowledgeable of homes and services rendered. The Assistant Manager ensures all communication containing company and customer information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations. In addition, the Assistant Manager impresses both clients and fellow employees with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner.

The following is a list of some of the job duties of the Assistant Manager

General Office Daily Procedures

Daily Checks - This is one of the most important tasks at HKU. You are responsible for quality control in each client home. This requires great attention to detail, organization and a methodical and efficient workflow for inspections.

Client Homes and Interactions - While most clients are very happy with their service, this person will respond to concerns and problems to ensure client satisfaction. Report any incidents of client dissatisfaction or matters of significance to manager so that corrective measures may be taken.

Bookkeeping – to include but not limited to deposits, time keeping, statement charges, client statements, credit card processing, accounts payable, credit card reconciliation and more.

Employee Record Keeping - As the Assistant Manager, you will be in contact with the cleaners and as such are best prepared to maintain employee records. There are two types of employee information kept by the Assistant Manager. The Employee Record and the Confidential Employee Record (kept in the locked file cabinet).

Employee Management – new employee training, rating existing employees, supplemental training, tracking employee time off and attendance.

Scheduling System – assist the manager with scheduling client services based on the cleaner availability.

Detail Sheets – Create and maintain client detail sheets in order that cleaners have updated, specific information about each home that they clean.
