Job DescriptionJob Description

New Tech Global is currently seeking a MRO Buyer/Planner for a manufacturing client in Houston, TX. This is a temporary to direct hire role. 


Overview

  • Source new materials as requested by Operations/R&D/Marketing/Engineering.
  • Consolidate and optimize purchasing of MRO supplies.
  • Source and negotiate FTL/LTL/Intermodal freight contracts.
  • Initiate request for quotes and supply agreements, where applicable, for items not already covered under purchasing agreements.
  • Work with suppliers to find new and innovative methods to reduce costs and lead times.
  • Maintain regular contact with key suppliers to build and maintain relationships.
  • Work collaboratively to improve existing purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Assist in scheduled maintenance activities of plant machinery, mobile equipment, building and electrical and mechanical systems throughout facility.
  • Develop and implement schedules and procedures for inspections and preventive maintenance program.
  • Maintain and support work order log/status and resourcing as directed
  • Other purchasing duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of purchasing and negotiating experience.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Highly organized with a very strong analytical and attention to detail mindset
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and able to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Must be able to diagnose parts, materials, and component pieces, not in compliance with company and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with parts inventory/inventory management.
  • Mechanical knowledge.
