Grinder I

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Set-up and Operate ID/Taper grinders. Perform all basic grinding required within the shop conforming to all specifications. Shop math and related shop knowledge a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Set-up and run any parts on ID/Taper grinders

2. Inspect 1st pc on own work to meet standards

3. Operate precision gauging

4. Follow safety standards and procedures

5. Can operate with little or no supervision

6. Follow proper work instructions

7. Dependable and punctual

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year ID/Taper grinding experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
