Medical Clinic Office Receptionist

Position Summary
The Medical Clinic Office Receptionist should be polite and courteous to the patient and vistors. He/She should make the patient feel comfortable. The receptionist does all of the appropriate tasks that are within his/her area of responsibility, or as required my Office Management:
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (Required)
- Computer skills: 1 year (Required)
Specific Duties
Maintain courteous and professional demeanor when greeting patients and visitors of the practice
Answer and/or respond to each phone call, email, and voicemail from patients, other providers, vendors, etc.
Retrieve and respond to faxes
Upload and maintain patient documentation on EHR system
Submit and follow-up on patient referrals
Keep the front desk and office organized and running smoothly
Schedule appointments and follow-ups for patients
Call patients to remind them of their appointments
Use medical office software, and other technology to keep information organized and up-to-date
Process payments from patients
Assist patients with filling out forms and answering their questions
- Coordinate the daily administration of doctors, staff, visitors, and patients
Keep the waiting and reception areas clean and inviting
Contact insurance companies to verify patient benefit and eligibility information and check claim status
Other duties as required by Office Management
