We are seeking an experienced full-time or part-time MA/LPN to work at the Skin Care Center of S. IL clinic is Glen Carbon, IL. This is an outpatient dermatology-focused clinic with a MOHS department. This clinic has a high volume environment which will require multitasking and superb customer/patient care. We are looking for long-term team members who will embrace our practice ethics and bring positive energy. This opportunity is a great chance to work at a Dermatology clinic focused on patients and employees The position is has the capability of working 24-32 hours per week, with potential work hours between 6:45am-5:30pm Monday-Friday. This position would be based out of Glen Carbon, IL with potential to travel to our other locations as needed.

Job Responsibilities, clinical:

• Intake for surgical patients and return patients
• Prepare patients for physical exam/surgery
• Preparing patients for Mohs layers and reconstructive surgery
• Assisting surgeons with Mohs surgery and reconstructive surgery
• Assists with procedures and demonstrates current knowledge and skill in nursing practice to ensure safe and effective care for the patient population.
• Responsible for patient education including handing out educational pamphlets, giving verbal instructions, explaining and recommending products, discussing medications and wound care and answering patient questions
• Providing post-op care to return patients
• Surgical instrument processing
• Prepare for the day’s activities by checking schedules and preparing rooms for patient use i.e. clean, organize and stock rooms with necessary equipment and supplies

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work under time pressures in a busy clinic/office environment
• Must be able to react quickly and immediately respond to emergencies
• Must be able to lift, push/pull and carry 15lbs
• Must be able to reach for objects by extending arms and able to stay in one position for periods of time
• Must maintain attention to detail over extended period of time
• Assisting other teams during down time

Work Schedule:

• 24-32 hours per week
• Follow the surgeon between Mohs and general Dermatology clinics
• Typical working days could be Monday-Friday with normal business hours. You'll have a set schedule.

Qualifications:

• Current and active LPN license in the state of IL with no restrictions
• If MA, registered/certified MA preferred
• 2 years Prior experience in outpatient surgery clinic setting
• Demonstrated ability or experience in patient flow management and confidential management of patient health information
• Ability to provide services to patients in a warm, professional manner
• Dermatology experience a plus
• Ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the dermatology field and a passion for building relationships with their patients
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing
• HIPAA & Provider Compliance
• EMR documentation
• Demonstrates a commitment to USS’ values and professionalism through appropriate conduct at all times
• Proven competencies/skills: analytical, problem solving, clinical/technical, patient/customer service orientation and bedside manner, interpersonal and written communications, thoroughness and teamwork.
