Location: Flint, MI 48503

Pay Rate: $23.00-$25.00/hr

Shift: 1st Shift

Description:

Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Janitor for a trucking company located in Flint, MI. This person will provide general maintenance, service buildings and equipment as needed and work on maintenance projects as they arise. They will also provide all the necessary janitorial functions of the building. This is a full-time, contract position with the opportunity to go direct based on job performance, attendance, attitude, etc. Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm. Some Saturdays may be required. Pay Rate: $23.00-$25.00/hr.

This person will need to have a strong mechanical aptitude, have proficient knowledge of industrial mechanical maintenance, blueprint reading, the ability to troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical hand tools, electric hoists, hydraulic actuated equipment, paint equipment and more. Must have a strong record of safety, be a self-starter, have strong communication skills, a willingness to take on responsibilities, make decisions and have the ability to work independently while completing complex, multi-level tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs preventive maintenance on all paint equipment and related systems.

  • Effectively trouble shoots all facets of the paint equipment and systems used.

  • Rebuilds paint guns, regulators (fluid and air), and all lower fluid sections.

  • Maintains and monitors "breathing air"systems.

  • Cleans air compressor coolers and air filters.

  • Changes oven intake filters once or twice a week as needed.

  • Changes oil and filter in air compressors for all locations as needed.

  • Rebuilds fluid regulators as needed.

  • Repairs hose reels.

  • Troubleshoots, removes, and replaces worn or defective parts of mechanical mechanisms or hydraulic systems.

  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.

  • Maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds simple and complicated pumps such as Piston, Diaphragm, Rotary, Turbine, Vain, Centrifugal, and Gear pumps.

  • Rebuilds all air motors and electrostatic spray guns and equipment.

  • Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.

  • Performs basic repairs and rebuilds of electrical and pneumatic hand tools.

  • Rebuilds sanders for all three locations as needed.

  • Records and maintains needed documentation.

  • Initiates purchase order requests for parts and maintains needed inventory.

  • Repairs broken or damaged parts when feasible, or when it does not require a high degree of machine work.

  • Performs other projects for production managers as needed.

  • Effectively communicate with all constituents including General Managers, Team Leaders, and other Maintenance Staff.

  • Clean and maintain all restrooms in the building.

  • Sweep and mop all tiled surface areas in the building.

  • Vacuum all carpeted areas in the building.

  • Dust and wipe down all common surface areas.

  • Sweep mop and clean both breakrooms, including the microwave, sink and other appliances.

  • Empty trash daily from the building and take out to the dumpster.

  • Clean and maintain the locker rooms.

  • Fill paper product dispensers daily.

  • Other duties as needed.

Preferred Experience and Training:

  • Has a high level of mechanical aptitude. 

  • Has basic knowledge of industrial electricity and a background in industrial maintenance environment. 

  • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools important to general maintenance of machinery and other equipment (screwdriver, wrenches, saws, basic power tools, measuring tools, etc.).

  • Must obtain a lift truck and 4-way operator's license within the first ninety days.

  • Can properly perform general arc welding, mig welding, and oxy - acetylene cutting tasks in a safe manner.

  • Reads and understands basic blueprints and drawings.

  • Able to read and comprehend instructions and manuals important to general operation and maintenance of machinery.

  • Able to read and comprehend wiring diagrams and manuals.

  • Has a working knowledge of Company Lock Out / Tag Out procedures.

  • Is familiar with the operation of metal fabricating machinery such as shears, brakes, punch presses, saws, drills, etc.

  • Has a good understanding of the different types of paint systems.

  • Is proficient at rebuilding complicated electrical and pneumatic tools such as pop rivet guns, auto-pneumatic drills, etc.

  • Must understand and comply with required Hazardous Material regulations.

  • Must understand safety requirements regarding equipment selection.

  • Attention to detail in every aspect of the job.

Physical/ Requirements:

  • Capable of individually performing heavy lifting up to 60 lbs.

  • Able to work while standing on ladders and/or other work platforms.

  • Able to work at heights up to 40 feet.

  • Able to physically work in unusual positions such as kneeling, bending, stooping, etc.

Education Requirement:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug test prior to starting.
