Job Description:

As a Estimator at Summit Construction and Development LLC, you will be responsible for estimating the scope of work for multiple projects, working with the Project Manager to complete accurate estimates , contracts and bids. You will also be responsible for managing the project’s timeline and ensuring that all estimates are complete and deliverables are met.

Responsibilities:

Estimating for civil scope of works: site development, underground utilities construction (Water, sewer, storm drains),Concrete and Roadways construction etc.

  • Perform take-offs with estimating software tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook and Word required.
  • Identify labor, material & time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, & other related documents
  • Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
  • Compose costs by analyzing labor, material & time requirements
  • Participate and implement pre-construction activities as required.
  • Prepare Bid documents and other pre-qualification paperwork.
  • Assist with take-off for job proposals/bids and Change order preparation and fast turnaround proposals/quantity takeoffs for field personnel.
  • Assist Project Management personnel during construction phase with Pay applications, Scheduling or any other PM activities as needed.
  • Visit job sites for field verifications.
  • Understanding of construction language, materials and methods and ability to communicate effectively within the construction environment.
  • Gather project/bid requirements.
  • Solicit participation from all vendors and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and attend all Bid Reviews conducted by Management.
  • Attend Pre-Bid meetings as required.
  • Commitment, Zeal and openness for learning new skills.

Qualifications:

. A strong knowledge of asphalt paving materials, methods, and equipment
·High School Diploma or equivalent required.
·2+ years of estimating experience required.

·Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

.Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills

.Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • Construction estimating: 2 years (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Stone Mountain, GA 30087: Relocate before starting work (Required)
