Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe attorney hired for this position will help ensure that tenants have equal access to legal representation throughout N.Y.C. Travel between N.Y.C. courts and our Jamaica Queens office will be required. In addition, the selected attorney is required to maintain client and case data, time records and other required information in our computerized case management system.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court;
- Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients;
- Negotiate settlements;
- Ability to travel to various courts in N.Y.C.;
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law;
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the area of landlord/tenant law is a plus
- Familiarity with Lexis, Clio and Microsoft Office software
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
