Draslovka is seeking to fill multiple Engineering Cohortship positions to start Summer 2024. The three focus areas will be Technical, Mechanical Integrity, and Environmental Projects. Chemical Engineering students are preferred but other majors such as Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Civil/Environmental Engineering, and Environmental Science may be considered as well. If available, Cohorts may have the opportunity to continue their term as a co-op or Cohort for future rotations.

 

As an Engineering Cohort you will work closely with subject matter experts in your assigned field to learn and complete various hands-on projects. You will be asked to apply your classroom knowledge as well as what you learn from our engineering standards and other engineers throughout your term.

Successful candidates should possess a strong desire for learning and developing new skills and should be self-motivated.

 

Location: Memphis, TN

Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week

 

The responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Working with experienced engineering professionals on various projects focused on process improvements, capital expansions, environmental stewardship, and other areas. These projects will be designed to be completed or have targeted milestones to be completed by the end of the Cohort.
  • Help design solutions and lead multi-discipline programs to improve processes based on business input (yield, uptime, capacity release, cost performance)
  • May assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex operational issues.
  • Gather and analyze site production data for completion and submittal of various regulatory reports
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements
  • Assist with updating and streamlining environmental procedures

 

The following is required for this role:

  • Current enrollment at an accredited university as a sophomore or above
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve equipment and process issues.
  • Willing to work in highly hazardous chemical processes.
  • Demonstrated skill in leadership, team building and achieving results through influence and negotiation.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must work well in both self-managed and team environment
  • Self-management skills with strong initiative
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

 

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Prior Cohort or internship experience working in a chemical plant
  • Participation in relevant activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
