HR Training Specialist

SUMMARY: One of the primary responsibilities of the HR Training Specialist is the implementation of the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) internal policies and procedures providing policy clarification to staff and adjusting existing policies, as required by federal and state laws. The HR Training Specialist also has the responsibility includes, but is not limited to for the organization’s training calendar, ensuring that Directors, supervisory and staff have the requisite training needed to meet USCRI’s and funders training requirements timely.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement internal organization policies impacting USCRI’s workforce; disseminate policies changes to all staff.
- Assess current workforce issues and trends and provide a recommendation to leadership on needed internal policies and revisions consistent with the federal and state laws.
- Ensure that internal policies are maintained and accessible to employees.
- Develop a training curriculum for the following teams to ensure that each employee is provided the necessary skills to execute their duties and meet licensing successfully and funder requirements.
- Manage relationships with specialty consultants and direct vendors in designing, developing, and presenting training programs and materials.
- Review and research market trends, new legislation, and practices, conduct assessments, and utilize other available information to make recommendations and incorporate best practices into training materials and internal policies.
- Network and partner with the client group, other HR professionals, and trainers to stay abreast of training trends and issues and incorporate best practices into training and development
- Monitor and follow up on the effectiveness and usefulness of training programs
- Maintain agency company-wide training records and training applications
- Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or related certification in human resources areas.
- Minimum of 2 years working within human resources.
- Experience with the development, including the drafting and dissemination of policies pertaining to HR and impacting an organization’s workforce.
- Excellent writing skills (will be asked to provide a sample)
- Good presentation and facilitation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and training skills demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships supporting collaborative work within Human Resources, leadership and across the organization.
- Excellent organization and time management skills
