Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented New Construction Plumbing Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing systems, new construction projects, and cost estimation. This role involves analyzing project plans and specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and working closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure that all plumbing-related aspects of construction projects are well-planned and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Analysis: Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents to understand the scope of plumbing work required.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs related to plumbing systems in new construction projects.
  • Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive bid proposals, including scope of work, timelines, and cost breakdowns, ensuring competitive and profitable bids.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and ensure the availability of necessary materials and labor.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all plumbing requirements are met and integrated into the overall construction plan.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project costs during construction, identify potential cost overruns, and recommend value engineering options to maintain project profitability.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized and detailed records of estimates, bid proposals, contracts, and project correspondence.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, local building codes, and regulations related to plumbing and construction.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing estimation, preferably in new construction.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Sage and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, installation methods, and local building codes.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to thoroughly review project plans and specifications and identify potential issues or discrepancies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose cost-effective solutions during the estimation process.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
