HERE’S THE JOB DESCRIPTION:
Title: Associate Scientist #12792
Pay Rate: $29.00-$32.50/hr.
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA 91320
Length: 1 year contract + possible extension
Top Must Have Skills:
- Reversed-phase protein mass spectrometry experience
- Reversed-phase peptide tandem-mass spectrometry experience
- aSEC, aCEX, aHIC chromatography experience
- DSF and DSC calorimetry experience (preferred)
- SEC-MALS/QELLS light scattering experience (preferred)
Job Details:
- Execute timely critical reagent analytical support and characterization using liquid chromatographic and analytical methods such as RPLC-MS, native-MS, aSEC, aCEX, aHIC, calorimetry, and light scattering.
- Generate and process singleton and large analytical data sets for research clients.
- Generate reports and communicate these data and associated reports for research clients.
- Perform protein, peptide, nucleic acid, glycan analysis and support and characterization by mass spectrometry, using RPLC-MS and RPLC-MS/MS, native-MS and other hyphenated MS analytical capabilities, aSEC, aCEX, aHIC, calorimetry, and light scattering to support the diverse early-stage pipeline.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day maintenance of the open access RPLC-MS system, that is heavily used by research
- Routine performance of RPLC-MS acquisition and data processing of research critical reagents and data report generation
- Routine performance of aSEC-MALS/QELLS of research critical reagents
- Routine performance of N-terminal sequencing of research critical reagents
- Routine performance of calorimetry analysis (DSF/DSC) critical reagents
- Limited and directed technology and application development efforts
Qualifications:
- Relevant BS degree with at least 3 years of related experience OR relevant MS degree with at least 1 year of related experience
- Must have previous biopharma analytical experience
- Previous experience with MS and MS/MS based PTM characterization desirable.
- Previous experience with MS/MS based de novo sequencing desirable.
- Previous experience with aSEC, aCEX, aHIC, calorimetry, and light scattering is desirable.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential.
