A Cosmetology Instructor is responsible for teaching students the art and science of cosmetology. The instructor will provide guidance and instruction in the areas of haircutting, styling, coloring, and chemical treatments. The instructor will provide knowledge and guidance on the latest trends in the cosmetology field and ensure that the students are prepared for the state licensing exam. The instructor will also mentor students, evaluate their performance, and monitor their progress.

Cosmetology Instructor Duties

• Teach principles and techniques of beauty treatment such as hair styling, manicuring, and skin care
• Provide instruction to students in the practical application of cosmetology treatments, such as facials, shampooing, and permanent waving
• Demonstrate hair-cutting and styling techniques
• Monitor student progress and performance and provide feedback
• Maintain records of student attendance and assessments
• Maintain a clean and safe learning environment
• Recommend products and services to clients
• Stay up to date on current trends and maintain valid license
• Maintain equipment and supplies

Cosmetology Instructor Skills

• Designing hair styles
• Performing chemical treatments
• Instructing students on hair care, styling, and coloring techniques
• Providing knowledge of sanitation, safety, and state laws related to cosmetology

Cosmetology Instructor Requirements

• Current Cosmetology license
• Previous experience as a Cosmetology instructor
• Knowledge of Cosmetology techniques
