Melrose Preschool is a non-traditional, play based Preschool environment. Our staff family must be willing to embrace new ideas, be flexible and be a team player. We are an open-minded school and welcome children and families from all backgrounds. Experience in a Reggio Emilia, Social Emotional Learning or Conscious Disciple based school is helpful, but not required. We do require Lead Teachers to have 3+ years classroom experience and assistants to have knowledge in Early Childhood Development. Assistant teachers should have basic knowledge of early childhood and be willing to learn as you go.

Melrose is searching for full-time Preschool teachers and Assistants to help us as we are expanding to a new school campus with more classrooms. Our lead teachers are required to have recent experience in a classroom setting. Teachers are in charge of daily lesson plans, teaching self regulation, communication to children & parents, creating monthly newsletters, updating parents on our communication app daily, changing diapers, keeping a tidy and organized classroom a etc...

Full time teacher assistants have a schedule with 2 classes and have set times to visit the teachers/children. Assistants are in charge of helping teachers prepare the classroom for the day and have supplies ready to go, keep the classroom clean and organized, making sure children have the correct supplies and cleaning up after lunch and snack. Assistants also become the lead teacher if an employee is out sick for the day. Melrose Assistants should be flexible, organized and be able to keep a clean classroom.

Job descriptions for both positions can be discussed in more detail during a phone or in person meeting. Melrose Preschool has recently moved to a new building in Murray Hill. We are opening new classrooms at our new location and we will need more staff to help us expand our rosters. We would like for new staff to start with us as soon as possible to begin training before the move happens. Positions are open to start in the Summer.
