Job DescriptionJob Description

Proman Skilled Trades is currently seeking a dedicated Sheetmetal Mechanic to join our team. As a Sheetmetal Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in installing HVAC materials, fabricating or modifying parts, and ensuring the proper installation of ductwork and sheet metal assemblies according to blueprints and specifications. A valid driver's license is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Essential Duties:

  • The Sheetmetal mechanic will install HVAC materials: You will be responsible for the precise installation of various HVAC materials, including round pipe/spiral duct, flex duct, motorized dampers, fire dampers, air devices, louvers, and air moving equipment.
  • The Sheetmetal mechanic will fabricate or modify parts: Utilizing a range of tools such as shears, brakes, saws, and welding equipment, you will fabricate or modify parts as necessary to meet project specifications.
  • The Sheetmetal mechanic will install ductwork and sheet metal assemblies: Following detailed blueprints and specifications, you will install ductwork and sheet metal assemblies with precision, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
  • The Sheet metal mechanic will fasten seams and joints: Seamlessly fasten seams and joints using bolts, cement, rivets, caulk, and clips to guarantee air-tight installations.
  • The Sheetmetal mechanic will drill and punch holes: Skillfully drill and punch holes in metal as required, and install duct taps for efficient connections.
  • The Sheetmetal mechanic will operate equipment: Safely operate equipment such as man lifts, personal lifts, chain hoists, and duct jacks to facilitate installations efficiently and securely.
  • The Sheetmetal mechanic will perform related duties and special projects: Complete related duties as assigned by supervisors and actively participate in special projects to ensure timely and successful project completion.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Sheetmetal Mechanic.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to effectively utilize various hand and power tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
