Job Description: Waterproofing Superintendent

Reports To: Project Manager

Classification: Exempt

General Description:

A Waterproofing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of waterproofing projects within the construction or maintenance industry. They play a crucial role in ensuring that buildings, structures, and surfaces are protected from water infiltration and moisture damage by implementing effective waterproofing solutions. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, project management skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Duties:

  • Project Planning:
    • Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and objectives.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for waterproofing projects.
    • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and site conditions to determine appropriate waterproofing methods and materials.
  • Supervision and Leadership:
    • Lead and manage a team of waterproofing technicians, laborers, and subcontractors.
    • Provide clear instructions, guidance, and direction to ensure work is executed according to specifications and quality standards.
    • Conduct regular on-site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Material Selection and Procurement:
    • Select appropriate waterproofing materials, coatings, membranes, and sealants based on project requirements and environmental conditions.
    • Coordinate with suppliers to procure necessary materials, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining adequate inventory levels.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that waterproofing installations meet industry standards and project specifications.
    • Conduct tests and inspections to verify the effectiveness of waterproofing systems and identify any defects or vulnerabilities.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Promote a culture of safety among the project team, adhering to all relevant safety regulations and guidelines.
    • Ensure that all workers are equipped with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices.
  • Communication:
    • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including clients, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
    • Provide progress updates, address concerns, and resolve any issues that arise during the course of the project.Keep job materials and labor on or below budget
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and photos.
    • Generate final project reports outlining project outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for future improvements.
    • Legal Department & Rules and Regulations Compliance
  • Problem Solving:
    • Identify and troubleshoot any technical issues, design discrepancies, or unexpected challenges related to waterproofing.
    • Propose and implement effective solutions to address problems and maintain project progress.
  • Complete other duties at the discretion of management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in construction or waterproofing-related roles, with a track record of successfully managing waterproofing projects.
  • Strong understanding of different waterproofing materials, techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and protocols.
  • Proficiency in using construction management software, project scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Completion of OSHA 30 course within first 90 days in position
  • Have a VALID Florida License and good driving record.
  • Have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
