Job Description:

The primary responsibility of the Facilities Technician is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the shopping center. Provide a safe and pleasant environment for shoppers and tenants alike.

Additional Job Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance on building systems including but not limited to HVAC, carpentry, door and lock repair, window repair, appliance/furniture moving, painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, lighting, snow removal, landscape, irrigation, fire systems, and preventative maintenance. The use of hand tools, power tools, and ladders may be required to perform your work and must be used in a safe manner.

  • Address and repair any structural issues within the shopping center, including roof leaks, flooring repairs, and general building upkeep.

  • Ensure the shopping center complies with safety regulations and building codes and implement corrective measures as needed.

  • Regularly inspect and maintain fire safety equipment and systems, such as fire extinguishers, alarms, and sprinkler systems.

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the shopping center by addressing facility-related issues promptly.

  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, displays, and promotional activities within the shopping center.

  • Monitor and optimize energy usage within the shopping center to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Participate in cleaning and janitorial tasks as needed to maintain a clean and presentable environment for shoppers and tenants.

  • Inspect waste disposal program within the shopping center.

  • Act as a point of contact for tenants regarding facility-related concerns and issues.

  • Coordinate with tenants to ensure their spaces are maintained and any necessary repairs are completed promptly.

  • Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Keep work area clean and hazard free.

  • Order and restock supplies as needed to ensure all maintenance tasks can be completed efficiently.

  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

  • Report any significant maintenance issues or potential risks to your supervisor.

  • Document and manage a Preventative Maintenance program.

  • Ability to operate a lift, forklift, pressure washer, and any other motor-powered equipment.

  • Repair and maintain facilities as needed in thirteen additional properties as directed by your supervisor.

Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to safely/legally drive a truck and use it for transporting tools, equipment and materials.

  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with all coworkers while working in a team environment.

  • Minimum seven years of experience in shopping center facilities.

  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire systems, painting, and snow removal.

  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.

  • Self-motivated, ability to perform tasks in a timely manner and problem-solving skills.

  • Good physical condition, strength and willingness to work overtime when required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers, reach, talk and hear.

  • The employee frequently is required to walk, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, and must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be available for emergency calls including but not limited to power outages, sewer back up, fire, natural disasters, medical incidents, security threats, and snow removal.

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.63-$24.04 per hour
