Vessel Fitter/MIG Flue Core Welder

Immediate Opening - Salary Range: $23 - $25/hour based on experience, skill level, and certifications. Position is full-time, non-exempt, hourly. Scheduled hours are 6:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Thursday, with occasional overtime. Paid Time off and rich benefit package.

 AVANTech, LLC solves some of the most challenging problems in the water industry – from being first responders to the Fukushima Nuclear Plant meltdown to implementing patented first-of-its-kind technology. Our projects include industrial water recycling at government sites.  AVANTech’s goal is to improve the environment around us and support our clients with innovative sustainable water treatment solutions. We are seeking an experienced Vessel Fitter MIG/Flux Core Welder.

Who You Are:

The Vessel Fitter candidate must also be experienced in MIG Welding, Flux-Core Welding & Pipe Fitting. Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in welding. Candidate's work must also be able to pass x-ray.

A Day In The Life:

·        Fitting code stamp vessels, skids,

·        Interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols used to fabricate piping assemblies or skids.

·        Prep pipe fittings and pipe ends for full penetration welds on pipe assemblies.

·        Must have the ability to correctly read a tape measure and level.

·        Must be able to identify which type of filler wire to use for a given type of base metal.

·        All welds must pass ASME pressure vessel and piping codes.

·        Must be able to operate power and hand tools.

·        The Vessel Fitter applicant must be able to follow all safety practices and PPE according to OSHA and AVANTech's procedures.

·        Ability to operate machinery.

·        Candidate’s work must be able to pass x-ray.

·        The ability to ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards is critical.

·        Applicants must be able to work in confined spaces.

 

What Will Set You Up for Success:

·       Candidates must have a minimum of 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience.

·       High school diploma or equivalent.

·       Ability to be flexible and responsive to changing business needs.

·       Work in confined spaces

 Requirements:

·       Applicants must have the ability to read and interpret drawings, engineering sketches, and blueprints, and be able to follow design specifications given both verbally and in written form.

·       Candidate must be able to pass drug test, pre-employment physical, and possible background investigation. A high level of safe working practices is vital.

Job Type: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt. Salary: $23-$25/hour, based on experience, skill level, and certifications.
