About Your Role

As a Medical Assistant, reporting to the owner, you will perform a wide range of tasks to help contribute to positive patient outcomes. Your ability to multi-task will come in handy as you work directly with patients by gathering medical history, obtaining vitals, conducting weight and health checks, drawing labs, performing a urinalysis analysis, and assisting providers. You will also have strong attention to detail as you schedule appointments, make appointment reminders, and obtain payment. In the end, your goal is to contribute to the smooth functioning of the clinic while supporting the overall patient experience and providing high levels of customer service.

Job Responsibilities

 

● Manage administrative processes in the office setting to include answering and returning patient phone calls, appointment scheduling and reminder calls, chart preparation, and payment processing

● Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation in electronic health record systems

● Assist in managing medication refills and prescription orders

● Provide direct and indirect care to patients through obtaining vitals, IV insertion and IM/subcutaneous medication administration, drawing laws, and urinalysis analysis

● Foster positive relationships with patients built on trust and genuine care

● Prioritize patient satisfaction and comfort

● Follow all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA

● Maintain a clean and safe environment

Your Qualifications:

● Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant certification

● 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant to include obtaining vital, drawing labs, and urinalysis analysis

● Proficiency in medical terminology, coding systems, and electronic health records

● Experience with medical office administrative work to include items such as appointment scheduling and obtaining payment

● Experience with IV insertion and IM/subcutaneous medication administration

● Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities

● Excellent communication skills

● Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care

● Genuine interest in ensuring patients receive high quality care and experience positive patient outcomes

● Ability to build effective business relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

● Willingness to work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
