The Accounts Payable Specialist reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable processing, ensuring the most efficient processes are being adhered to by all employees when submitting payables, as well as compliance for all other payment transactions.
Position Responsibilities:
Receive invoices - match to completed, approved purchase orders and post
to accounting system.
Ensure invoices are properly allocated to correct general ledger, job cost,
vessel and equipment cost codes.
Work with Purchasing department and/or vendors to resolve any invoice
discrepancies.
Process approved check and wire transfer requests as needed.
Process approved petty cash and credit card expense reports.
Record credit card transactions on a weekly basis.
Balance and prepare monthly credit card statements and provide to
Accounting Manager for review.
Monthly review of vendor statements to ensure all invoices are posted and paid
within term.
Perform other duties as required by the Accounting Manager, Controller, and/or
CFO.
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Associates Degree or equivalent experience
Must be considered an expert in Microsoft Office – specifically Excel and Word
Advanced proficiency in Sage Timberline (Sage 300) highly preferred
Working knowledge of Concur preferred
