What You Will Be Doing
A reputable company in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a skilled Welder responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products according to customer drawings, specifications, or other instructions.
The Ideal Candidate
- Welding Techniques: Proficient in assigned welding techniques.
- Drawing Interpretation: Interpret mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology.
- Materials Knowledge: Understand applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials, including appropriate wire and filler materials.
- Fixturing and Set Up: Set up fixturing and weld parameters (amps, volts, etc.) accurately.
- Measuring Instruments: Utilize conventional and precision measuring instruments effectively.
- Inspection and Documentation: Conduct process inspection, certification, and documentation.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain welding equipment in good working order.
- Finish Grinding: Perform finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.
Other Essential Functions
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in various forms of welding is preferred.
