Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs and materials required for sheet metal fabrication projects, ensuring that quotes are competitive and profitable.

Responsibilities:

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand client requirements and project scope.

Analyze project plans to determine the quantity and type of materials needed for fabrication.

Estimate material, labor, and overhead costs for each project, taking into account factors such as material costs, production processes, and project timelines.

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates using specialized software and spreadsheets.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to review and finalize estimates.

Present estimates to clients and negotiate pricing as needed to secure contracts.

Track and monitor project costs throughout the fabrication process, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or cost overruns.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and materials to ensure competitiveness in the market.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.

Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication estimating, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.

Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to accurately calculate material quantities and costs.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
