Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition: Medication Technician                                                                 Status: Full-Time, Hours: 9am- 5pm (M-F)
  Upward Bounds Behavioral Health Center is an addiction recovery center servicing adults facing the challenges of substance and mental health abuse. Upward Bounds Behavioral Health Center is looking for a certified Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join our team. The Med Tech will be responsible for monitoring and administering client medication, maintaining a stable environment for our clients at all times.  Duties·         Verifies identity of patient receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records·         Presents medication to patient and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures·         Records the administration of medications/and or treatments accordingly·         Receives supply of ordered medications and assign, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to client·         Obtains health related information from newly admitted patients as indicated·         Provides the Licensed Nurse with patient information to assist him/her in the daily evaluation and planning of patient care·         Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered·         Reports and records any changes observed in condition or behavioral of clients·         Maintains effective communication with nursing services, leadership and clinical supervisor, particularly for any incidents or unusual occurrences·         Records and may restock medication inventories·         Maintains, cleans, organizes the Medication Room·         Demonstrates knowledge of “five rights” of medication administration·         Adheres to Upward Bounds policies and procedures implementing HIPPA requirement for the privacy and security of protected health information  Requirements·         Medication technician MUST BE certified by the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON)·         Current First Aid and CPR license or ability to obtain ·         High School diploma·         Strong written and verbal skills·         Desire to support our mission and help our clients succeed·         Maintain highest standards of professionalism and integrity LocationOffice Physical DemandsUnder normal circumstances the employee will need to have the physical capacity to continuously use his/her hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation. The employee may be required to do the following:·         Physically able to bend, stand, stoop, or sit for long periods of time·         Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
