About the job:
Perform tasks in the production department that professionally done on schedule with bare minimal wasted material.  
 
Responsibilities:

• Must ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with OSHA rules and regulations, Company rules and regulations, and common sense (where such work relates to safety in the workplace).
• Load programs and set the Laser Burner parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
• Responsibility to load the bed of the Laser Burner with the necessary sheet material. This can be done manually or with the use of a pneumatic suction hoist. Sheets can range in weight from 5 or 10 pounds to about 1000 pounds. Always ask for assistance when necessary.
• When questions arise, always ask for assistance before proceeding with burning.
• Remove finished parts and small scrap parts manually.
• Always verify the quality of the finished material.
• Place the finished material on a pallet, cart or container, along with the project serial number or drawing number.
• Count, inspect, bundle and mark completed parts.
• Must be able to bend, twist and stoop for 30% of the workday.
• Troubleshoot cutting errors that may occur.
• The ability to work overtime during high volume periods.
• Always maintain compliance with schedules, and maintain a sufficient flow of parts to Production.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on the Laser as per the manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure that it is always in perfect operating condition. Advise your immediate Supervisor should you suspect or experience any operational difficulties.
• Regularly check to make certain that adequate inventory levels of oxygen and nitrogen gas are maintained.
• Ensure that adequate raw material inventory (i.e., sheet steel) is maintained.
• If questions exist, ask your Supervisor for assistance.

 
Required:

• HS diploma.  Trade school or apprenticeship with manufacturing is ideal.
• Must have 3-5 years’ experience with the operation and set-up of Laser cutting (burning) machines along with the necessary knowledge to ensure the efficient and correct operation of such equipment.
• Fluent in the English language, both written and verbal.
• Must have the physical ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds.
• Must have experience reading mechanical drawings, and understand the details of the items to be cut and their use.
• Must possess a strong ‘hands-on’ background with the overall operation of such equipment, preferably Mitsubishi.
• Basic understanding of the Laser cutting software.
• OSHA rules and regulations, Company rules and regulations, and common sense (where such work relates to safety in the workplace).
