Job Summary:

It is the responsibility of the Senior Data and Accreditation Officer to provide support to the Director of Institutional Assessment on matters related to institutional accreditation, data management and analysis. The Senior Data and Accreditation Officer will assist with planning, facilitating, and implementing assessment and accreditation strategies that advance and accomplish the mission of the university. Maintain ongoing communication with appropriate faculty and staff regarding accreditation and assessment initiatives. Support initiatives relevant to data collection, management, analysis, and report writing.

The candidate will possess technical skills necessary to diagnose and resolve data inconsistencies in university administrative application, and knowledge of best practices in assessment and accreditation. This position requires a detailed understanding of student information systems, database architecture as well as experience with reporting systems and data analysis. An individual who is a detail-oriented, analytical thinker who possesses a true team spirit and is able to work independently is the ideal candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and understands SACSCOC, ACEN and ACME accreditation standards and requirements, including pending and final changes to standards, requirements and policies.

  • Collaborates with the Director of Institutional Assessment to ensure accreditation tasks are completed in a timely manner.

  • Oversees the validity and reliability of the data in the university data systems related to institutional effectiveness. In addition, oversees the data reliability workgroups.

  • Develop, maintain, and manage processes for the collection, archiving, and ongoing tracking of assessment and accreditation documents.

  • Analyzes data and reports results to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assists in cultivating a culture of assessment across the institution that emphasizes student and institutional success through meaningful, pragmatic assessment strategies and processes.

  • Identifies and compiles new Dashboards and reviews existing Sisense Dashboards for accuracy and consistency

  • Assists with the administration of the universities survey process.

  • Actively maintains and updates the university data dictionary repository.

  • Stays current with emerging data requirements in higher education by means of listservs, professional development opportunities, readings and professional associations.

  • Creates new and modifies existing Dashboards in a timely manner.

  • Compiles accreditation supporting documentation.

  • Monitors the student data for accuracy.

  • Provide service to the University through activities such as involvement in FNU shared governance (e.g. committees, workgroups), FNU sponsored activities (e.g. charity drives, community-outreach activities), and/or service to the profession (e.g. presentations, professional organization committee work).

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of higher education, preferably in an institution-wide, research-university setting and ability to organize work effectively

  • Handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and establish and maintain effective work relationships with faculty, staff and administrators.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and respond to technical problems with databases and recognize data inconsistencies/issues.

  • Knowledge with process improvement techniques including process mapping and project management

  • Strong communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of relational databases

  • Database experience sufficient to oversee the entry and use of information in a complex development database; ability to manipulate and retrieve data.
