JOB SUMMARY:

Pharmacy clerks will primarily work at the front window greeting patients, creating patient profiles, verifying NextGen (eMR) information, accepting prescriptions, typing, and selling prescriptions through the point of sale (POS).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Upholds and supports the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies and ethics of CHSI.

2.      Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

3.      Must be flexible and be able to work different schedules or as a delivery clerk to meet patient and pharmacy needs.

4.      Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

5.      Possess ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

6.      Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills.

7.      Must be organized and be able to prioritize tasks.

8.      Possess PC knowledge and general navigation skills.

9.      Operate in a manner consistent with professional, ethical, and legal standards of proper pharmacy practice.

10.  Be accurate, proficient, timely, knowledgeable, thorough and complete in one’s work.

11.  Have a willingness to learn new responsibilities and tasks.

12.  Provide excellent service while maintaining the core values and service attributes consistent with Pharmacy and CHSI.

13.  Perform other duties as assigned.

14.  Provides medication-assisted treatment pursuant to a state protocol, to the extent authorized by federal law.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

·         High school graduate or GED  

·         1-2 years of experience in healthcare or related field experience. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, co-workers, Management, vendors and others as necessary.
  • Possesses strong Interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of various computer software that support administrative systems (i.e. Excel, Word etc.) and pharmacy software.
  • Detail oriented.
