Summary of position: The Human Resources (HR) Generalist directly reports to the Vice President of HR. The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day HR operations on a professional level. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; maintaining the HRIS, providing audit support, overseeing benefits, processing payroll, scheduling meetings, and serving as an initial HR contact for staff. The HR Generalist must have the ability to multitask and an attention to detail.

 

 

Education and Licensure

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or a related field.

                              

Experience

Preferred: Two-three years of experience working in Human Resources.

 

Abilities

Required: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multitask.  Exceptional attention to detail. Outstanding customer service skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Team orientation. Positive “can do” attitude.

Preferred: Experience with HRIS system, preferably Paycom.

 

Essential functions:

  1. Responsible for timely and accurate data entry into the HRIS system including the processing of any changes via Personnel Action Forms (PAF) and annual benefits open enrollment via the HRIS.
  2. Maintaining the HRIS system and implementing best practices within the HRIS to ensure flow of data is automated including file feeds to carrier websites.
  3. Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, training, recruitment, and performance evaluations.
  4. Administration of employee benefit plans including communicating benefits information to employees, coordinating open enrollment meetings and materials, and the annual benefits open enrollment fair.
  5. Process Walker’s bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.
  6. Administer workers’ compensation system, including required OSHA reporting requirements, direct coordination with workers compensation carrier, coordination of modified duty.
  7. Responsible for human resource customer service, including answering standard policy, and benefits questions.
  8. Compile and prepare reports and documents.
  9. Provide back-up administrative support for the recruitment function, including; obtaining required paperwork and I-9 documentation and the processing of I-9 through E-verify.
  10. Conduct HR portion of New Employee Orientation.
  11. Create and maintain personnel and other HR files.
  12. Reconcile monthly benefit statements to payroll records.
  13. All other duties, as assigned.
