Matrimonial Attorney

Our law firm is seeking a tech-savvy and experienced family law attorney who can assist our clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, surrogacy, child support, and domestic violence. Jobseekers should be equally familiar with prenuptial agreements, contested divorce, maintenance, child support, and real estate, and be able to effectively engage in oral debate and negotiation even in highly stressful and emotional situations.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
• Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
• Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
• Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed
• Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action

Qualifications:

• Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
• Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants
• At least 5 years of SOLID family and matrimonial law experience
• Must have excellent legal writing skills
• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York
• Licensed to practice law in the State of Connecticut is a plus but not a requirement
