Maine Family Planning is seeking a full-time Mobile Medical Unit Driver.  This position is based on a four-day work week, 3 (10 hour) days and 1 (7.50 hour) day.  


The Mobile Medical Unit driver has overall responsibility for the operation, security, condition, and safety of mobile medical unit. The Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) driver will transport the MMU to various locations on schedule as required.  The driver will remain with the MMU while in operation unless otherwise agreed to.


Qualifications Needed for Position:

Experience and Skill Requirements:  The following experience and skills are considered essential:

  • Commercial Driver’s License required, valid CDL Class A or B, and a clean driving record.
  • Proof of insurability.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout Maine. (focus on central and Western)
  • Current Medical Certification.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit (including prolonged sitting), and talk or hear.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to sit for long periods of time while driving to various locations – typically an average of 2 hours but may, on occasion, be up to 6 hours at a time.
  • Operate tools/machinery and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift 20-50 pounds on a regular basis (sandwich board, toolbox, etc.)
