Job DescriptionJob Description

ShopSabre has an immediate opening for a Robotic Welder Programmer who takes pride in their craft. Our robotic welder programmer will be developing and implementing the programs for the robots. The duties include transition of parts from manual welding to robotic, and designing fixtures to be used with the welding robot. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for our CNC machines which is critical to the quality and operational performance of the machines.

Responsibilities

Design fixtures and jigs to be used with the welding robots
Develop and enter programs into the robots
Ability to operate and understand the functions of a robotic welder
Monitor output and adjust robotic welder as needed
Troubleshoot and fix robotic welder when down
Train operators to use the robots
Identify and initiate improvements to increase productivity
Perform general maintenance to keep robotic welders operating at peak efficiency
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Align components using measuring devices, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Requirements
Preferred to have minimum 2 years experience as a robotic welding programmer
Experience in steel MIG welding and steel MIG welding procedures (Minimum 3 years)
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, grinders etc.)
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, steel toe boots etc.)
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently and as a team
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Able to adjust on the fly to new tasks and assignments
Team player who is willing to jump in and help where needed
Attention to detail
Proficient in English
