Schedule: Full-Time with varying hours and days

My client is a Santa Cruz County family run retail store committed to supporting other local merchants, the community, and its customers.

They are looking for a:
  • Store Manager with a passion for retail and strong customer service.
  • Leader who focuses on integrity, accountability and bringing out the best in their employees.
  • Team player who wants to learn all areas of the store and, as needed, help fill in for other staff (cashiers, bagging, etc)

What will you be doing?
  • Focusing on front end store management and help in other areas of the store as needed
  • Ensuring that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a friendly environment; this includes greeting and acknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, answering questions, responding to concerns and having solid product knowledge.
  • Maintaining a strong knowledge of all product information, merchandise promotions, merchandise, and advertisements.
  • Assisting in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and store housekeeping.
  • Assisting in processing and replenishing merchandise; participating in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
  • Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-through and audits, etc.
  • Overseeing staff and fulfilling staffing needs during regular hours, as well as special events or high-traffic times and ensuring breaks/lunches are met.
  • Training and developing store personnel in all aspects of the business, direct and monitor training and development for all store personnel.
  • Promoting products.

What you bring to the organization:
  • 5+ years previous retail or customer service experience, with 2+ years in a management role
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to diffuse tense situations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage employees with varying shifts and responsibilities
  • Willingness to cover shifts and responsibilities of other employees as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines; ability to multitask.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with ability to motivate staff.
  • Must be able to fill in when personnel resources are low.
  • Ability to develop and maintain budgets
