We are looking for a full-time welder who will also perform supervisory duties and has 2+ years of welding management or supervisory experience and a customer-focused, team-oriented attitude. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Pay is commensurate with experience. 

EDUCATION, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent; technical degree in welding helpful; prior experience preferred; read measuring device to 1/16 of an inch; familiarity with plasma cutter and grinders; forklift certification or ability of obtain certification; problem solving skills; attention to detail and accuracy; possess good interpersonal communication skills to work well with others; ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.

SAFETY/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, talk and hear; must be able to stand or sit for long period of time; ability to lift, push, pull and carry 50 lbs on a regular basis; must be able to do repetitive work, wear safety glasses while in production area and supply own welding helmet and safety boots.

SUPERVISOR DUTIES: Monitor production activities; perform quality checks and quality audits; track faculty schedules and monitor absenteeism; lead and oversee team production activities; take a "hands-on" approach and pitch in alongside your team; review work orders, work instructions, drawings and project timelines; expedite "rush" orders as necessary; troubleshoot issues and complaints as they arise; initiate corrective action as necessary; escalate complex issues as necessary; uphold quality, compliance and safety standards; ensure welding areas remain neat and orderly; assist with training and onboarding processes for new team members; serve a resource for new and existing team members; handle special projects; perform other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

WELDING DUTIES: Perform mig welding of structural steel components and parts; read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings, including welding symbols and marking of materials for final weld assembly; use measuring tape, rulers, fixtures, jibs, calipers, clamps and grinders; determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements; clean and prepare surfaces to be welded; set up, align, assemble and tack weld parts as required; weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead); ensure completed welds are of acceptable visual quality; operate jib cranes, overhead cranes and forklift; follow quality and safety procedures; complete production time reports; keep equipment and work area clean; be willing to cross train and work in other shop production roles as needed; perform additional duties as requested.
