Third Shift Staff Pharmacist

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our Long Term Care Pharmacy team in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications and provides an opportunity to work autonomously while being part of a supportive health care team. This position follows a 7-on/7-off schedule, working third shift hours, which allows for a great work-life balance while still engaging in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Review, process, and verify prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Supervise the preparation and dispensing of medications to long term care facilities.
- Manage drug therapy protocols and provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for all medication management inquiries and issues during shift hours.
- Maintain pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Comply with state and federal drug laws, regulated drug products, and pharmacy practice standards.
- Document medication dispensing actions, maintain accurate and secure records.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate medication stock without excessive surpluses.
- Provide guidance and supervision to pharmacy technicians and other support staff.
- Collaborate effectively with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, and evaluate the medication management plan of patients.
Shift:
- 7 on 7 off, 10:00pm to 6:30am
Qualifications:
- Pharmacy experience.
- LTC experience a plus
- Kentucky pharmacy license.
