Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Freight Business Development Agent to join our Muncie, IN team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in sales and logistics, with a passion for identifying new business opportunities and fostering long-term relationships with customers. As a Freight Business Development Agent, you will play a crucial role in expanding our client base and driving revenue growth by designing effective partner-specific logistics solutions, maintaining a portfolio of customers, and scaling existing customer accounts. Compensation includes 40% commission.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and Target Prospects: Research and identify potential customers in need of freight and logistics services. Develop and execute strategies to approach and secure new business opportunities.
- Sales and Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. Use this information to inform sales strategies and identify emerging opportunities.
- Prepare Proposals and Presentations: Highlight the benefits of our services. Present solutions to customers and negotiate contracts to close deals.
- Collaborate: Work with internal logistics and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Arrange Face-to-Face Meetings: Identify key decision makers and arrange face-to-face meetings where applicable. Use these meetings to identify organic growth opportunities with the customer.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or a similar role within the freight and logistics industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Provide high level verbal and written communication.
- Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence others.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
- Ability to build and grow relationships with current and potential customers.
- Enthusiastic, goal-oriented personality that works well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
