Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Electrical T&D (Transmission & Distribution) Substation Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the electrical outside utility industry and will be responsible for the timely and accurate development of bids and proposals for the management and construction of aerial and underground civil/electrical T&D and substation installations. This position requires a thorough understanding of industry standards, project management, and cost estimation practices.

Responsibilities:

1. Bid and Proposal Development:

· Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for T&D and substation projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

· Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine the scope of work and project requirements.

· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for bid preparation.

· Develop comprehensive bid packages and proposals, ensuring all client requirements and industry standards are met.

2. Cost Analysis and Estimation:

· Perform detailed cost analysis and develop cost estimates for various project components, including aerial and underground civil/electrical installations.

· Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.

· Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to ensure accuracy and consistency in estimates.

3. Project Management Support:

· Assist project managers in the planning and scheduling of projects, providing input on cost estimates and resource requirements.

· Support the development of project budgets and cost control measures.

· Participate in project kickoff meetings and provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration:

· Interact with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and address any questions or concerns.

· Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

· Negotiate pricing and terms with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

· Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation.

· Track and report on bid activity, win/loss ratios, and other key performance indicators.

· Provide regular updates to management on project status, performance, and any potential risks or issues.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

· Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as an estimator in the electrical outside utility industry, with a focus on T&D and substation projects.

· Extensive knowledge of aerial and underground civil/electrical T&D installations and substation construction.

· Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and tools.

· Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform detailed cost analysis and accurately estimate project costs.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.

· Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

· Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements related to T&D and substation installations.
