You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across different departments to gather requirements, create and maintain documentation, provide RFP input, plan project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress.   DAY TO DAY:
  • Clearly define roles and responsibilities, drive constructive and productive participation by all involved.
  • Aggressively manage project tasks assuring work progresses according to schedule.
  • Collecti requirements from a broad set of users and combining them into a comprehensive statement of requirements.
  • Prepare documentation, obtain approval, and track all changes in project scope.
  • Communicate project changes and events to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Setting project goals and developing plans to meet those goals
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Manage multiple associated projects throughout the project lifetime to ensure success as defined by adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Conduct regular project meetings and ensure comprehensive documentation of project progress and outcomes
  • Provides timely status reports to reflect project status, issues, and risks.
  • Proactive identification of risks and impacts, and collaboration with customer and project team to address concerns.
  • The position consults with the project team on all aspects of project management and ensures compliance with Commonwealth project management policies, standards, and guidelines.
 Require/Desire Skills
  • Proven work experience as an IT Project Manager             Required             10           Years
  • Significant experience in agile project management methodologies and waterfall methodologies.               Required                7              Years
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.          Required                             
  • Experience in RFP process is required.    Required             5              Years
  • Experience in Planview Enterprise 1 or similar Portfolio and Project Management tools is required.            Required                7              Years
  • Experience in Azure DevOps or any Agile Project Management tools is required. Required             7              Years
  • Certified Project Manager by PMI or VITA PM certification is required.     Required                             
  • Experience in Laboratory Information Management System is highly desired.       Highly desired   5              Years
  • Experience working as a Project Manager in a Commonwealth of Virginia Executive Branch Agency(ies)   Highly desired 5              Years
